بسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

الرَّحْمَٰنُ {1}

[Pickthal 55:1] The Beneficent

عَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ {2}

[Pickthal 55:2] Hath made known the Qur’an.

خَلَقَ الْإِنْسَانَ {3}

[Pickthal 55:3] He hath created man.

عَلَّمَهُ الْبَيَانَ {4}

[Pickthal 55:4] He hath taught him utterance.

الشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ بِحُسْبَانٍ {5}

[Pickthal 55:5] The sun and the moon are made punctual.

وَالنَّجْمُ وَالشَّجَرُ يَسْجُدَانِ {6}

[Pickthal 55:6] The stars and the trees prostrate.

وَالسَّمَاءَ رَفَعَهَا وَوَضَعَ الْمِيزَانَ {7}

[Pickthal 55:7] And the sky He hath uplifted; and He hath set the measure,

أَلَّا تَطْغَوْا فِي الْمِيزَانِ {8}

[Pickthal 55:8] That ye exceed not the measure,

وَأَقِيمُوا الْوَزْنَ بِالْقِسْطِ وَلَا تُخْسِرُوا الْمِيزَانَ {9}

[Pickthal 55:9] But observe the measure strictly, nor fall short thereof.

وَالْأَرْضَ وَضَعَهَا لِلْأَنَامِ {10}

[Pickthal 55:10] And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures,

فِيهَا فَاكِهَةٌ وَالنَّخْلُ ذَاتُ الْأَكْمَامِ {11}

[Pickthal 55:11] Wherein are fruit and sheathed palm-trees,

وَالْحَبُّ ذُو الْعَصْفِ وَالرَّيْحَانُ {12}

[Pickthal 55:12] Husked grain and scented herb.

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ {13}

[Pickthal 55:13] Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?

خَلَقَ الْإِنْسَانَ مِنْ صَلْصَالٍ كَالْفَخَّارِ {14}

[Pickthal 55:14] He created man of clay like the potter’s,

وَخَلَقَ الْجَانَّ مِنْ مَارِجٍ مِنْ نَارٍ {15}

[Pickthal 55:15] And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire.

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ {16}

[Pickthal 55:16] Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?

رَبُّ الْمَشْرِقَيْنِ وَرَبُّ الْمَغْرِبَيْنِ {17}

[Pickthal 55:17] Lord of the two Easts, and Lord of the two Wests!

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ {18}

[Pickthal 55:18] Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?

مَرَجَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ يَلْتَقِيَانِ {19}

[Pickthal 55:19] He hath loosed the two seas. They meet.

بَيْنَهُمَا بَرْزَخٌ لَا يَبْغِيَانِ {20}

[Pickthal 55:20] There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other).

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ {21}

[Pickthal 55:21] Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?

يَخْرُجُ مِنْهُمَا اللُّؤْلُؤُ وَالْمَرْجَانُ {22}

[Pickthal 55:22] There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone.

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ {23}

[Pickthal 55:23] Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?

وَلَهُ الْجَوَارِ الْمُنْشَآتُ فِي الْبَحْرِ كَالْأَعْلَامِ {24}

[Pickthal 55:24] His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners.

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ {25}

[Pickthal 55:25] Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?

كُلُّ مَنْ عَلَيْهَا فَانٍ {26}

[Pickthal 55:26] Everyone that is thereon will pass away;

وَيَبْقَىٰ وَجْهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ {27}

[Pickthal 55:27] There remaineth but the Countenance of thy Lord of Might and Glory.

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ {28}

[Pickthal 55:28] Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?

يَسْأَلُهُ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ هُوَ فِي شَأْنٍ {29}

[Pickthal 55:29] All that are in the heavens and the earth entreat Him. Every day He exerciseth (universal) power.

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ {30}

[Pickthal 55:30] Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?

سَنَفْرُغُ لَكُمْ أَيُّهَ الثَّقَلَانِ {31}

[Pickthal 55:31] We shall dispose of you, O ye two dependents (man and jinn).

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ {32}

[Pickthal 55:32] Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?

يَا مَعْشَرَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنْسِ إِنِ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَنْ تَنْفُذُوا مِنْ أَقْطَارِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ فَانْفُذُوا ۚ لَا تَنْفُذُونَ إِلَّا بِسُلْطَانٍ {33}

[Pickthal 55:33] O company of jinn and men, if ye have power to penetrate (all) regions of the heavens and the earth, then penetrate (them)! Ye will never penetrate them save with (Our) sanction.

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ {34}

[Pickthal 55:34] Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?

يُرْسَلُ عَلَيْكُمَا شُوَاظٌ مِنْ نَارٍ وَنُحَاسٌ فَلَا تَنْتَصِرَانِ {35}

[Pickthal 55:35] There will be sent, against you both, heat of fire and flash of brass, and ye will not escape.

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ {36}

[Pickthal 55:36] Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?

فَإِذَا انْشَقَّتِ السَّمَاءُ فَكَانَتْ وَرْدَةً كَالدِّهَانِ {37}

[Pickthal 55:37] And when the heaven splitteth asunder and becometh rosy like red hide –

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ {38}

[Pickthal 55:38] Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? –

فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لَا يُسْأَلُ عَنْ ذَنْبِهِ إِنْسٌ وَلَا جَانٌّ {39}
