about this book
  • overview

This is a historical, political and legal study of the Shatt al-Arab dispute between the government of Iran and the Republic of Iraq, a dispute which has not received the international attention it deserves, while it is a perpetual threat to peace in this area of the Middle East. Dr Khalid al-Izzi has attempted to study this dispute as objectively as possible, relying upon Iraqi as well as Iranian sources. As a lawyer, the author hopes that his work may help in solving this dispute which has for so long marred relations between those two Islamic countries.
